Excelsior welcomes you and your family to this beautiful small quaint little city located along the beautiful banks of Gideon, St. Albans and Excelsior Bay. Although Excelsior is a small town, officials work and strive to bring you information you need. The Administration Department is located at 330 Third Street, downtown. The Administration Department can help you with information regarding animal license, garbage/recycling pick up dates and general information. The office is right next to the Excelsior Hennepin County Library and the Fire District. Office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. and can be reached at (952) 474-5233.

The Excelsior Public Works Department is a pivotal part of the city, located at 151 Oak Street County Road 19 from 7:00a.m. to 3:30p.m. The Public Works Department serves the city by monitoring day-to-day operation and the maintenance of the water and sewer. The department also oversees the streets in the city, the parks and recreation centers and the local cemetery. For more information or if you have any questions, please call (952) 474-3464.

Because Excelsior is surrounded by several large and small bodies of water, many residents own boats or participate in other water type activities. Residents need information regarding docks and the City of Excelsior has what you need. Excelsior owns several docks, buoys and slides along the Lake Minnetonka shore for Excelsior residents. Residents from nearby cities may use these docks, and buoys but do not have priority usage. You may add your name to the waiting list if you would like to use one of the docks for any particular reason, simply call (952) 474-5233 for more information.
